PETRONAS AdBlue® is a ready to use high-purity synthetic fluid delivering optimized performance and component durability for vehicles after-treatment systems, developed for vehicles with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, to reduce soot and NO X emissions in diesel engines, to meet Euro 4, Euro 5 and Euro 6 stringent requirements. PETRONAS AdBlue ® is a 32.5% urea solution in de-mineralized water, colorless and biodegradable, certified according to ISO 22241 and qualified by the VDA (German Automotive Industry Association), to guarantee high- quality standards. AdBlue® is a reducing agent, injected into the SCR system, releasing ammonia to react with NO X, transforming them into nitrogen (harmless gas) and water, hence reducing pollutant emissions. PETRONAS AdBlue® is suitable for passenger car, light and heavy-duty commercial vehicles, buses, agriculture machineries, construction, and mining equipment. Do not mix the product with water or any other additive, especially Diesel fuel to avoid damage to SCR system. Never fill the Diesel tank with AdBlue® (or vice-versa): this could damage the fuel injection system. Refill interval depends on driving style, vehicle type and fuel consumption. Always refer to safety data sheet for storage instructions, shelf life and fluid handling. Storage and Materials compatibility
PETRONAS AdBlue® is recommended to be stored out of direct sunlight , in a temperature range between -5°
to avoid crystallization and +30°C to avoid degradation, that could reduce the product shelf life.
In case of transfer of the product in different containers, materials that come into contact with PETRONAS
AdBlue® should be in austenitic steels: chromium -nickel or chromium -nickel-molybdenum according to EN
10088-1 or equivalent materials.
Carbon steels, galvanized steels, copper, and copper -containing steels are not suitable due to their poor
resistance to urea, urea in solution or the ammonia contained.
Polymers, i.e. polyethylene, polypropylene and polyoxymethylene are suitable. The seals can be made of PTFE.
However, the properties of plastic materials are largely dependent by the type of compound and the production
process, for any question you should ask the Manufacturer to declare resistance of this material to PETRONAS
AdBlue®.
For any other material not mentioned above, the corrosion resistance and the possible influence on the
specifications needs to be tested.
